Our Thomas The Tank Engine Pedal car will delight both children
and collectors alike who have an appreciation for Sodor's
famous 0-6-0 locomotive. This official Thomas The Tank Engine
pedal car is a faithful representation of the number 1 blue
engine. These are the highest quality pedal cars we have
ever sold. Handbuilt in the UK, the Thomas The Tank Engine
Pedal car is priced higher than our traditional pedal cars,
and for good reason. Your child will instantly recognise
that they have their own Thomas The Tank Engine. The tyres
on these cars are pneumatic and the car has real pedals
(like those on a bike) - this means the car is much easier
to manoeuvre outside than our traditional pedal car models.
The car is larger than most pedal cars - your child sits
"inside", rather than outside. The car is made from metal,
so it is really strong and robust where is matters. The
mudguards and trim are made from high-grade plastic, which
means they won't bend or buckle, and keeps the car from
being too heavy. We have many years experience of children's
pedal cars, and this is just about the best we have ever

The construction process combines the best of new world
and old world skills, using computer controlled cutting
machines to provide the aluminium rust-free panels, whilst
the overall assembly is completed, by hand, with care
and pride.
Our Thomas The Tank Engine Pedal Car features a box steel
chassis supporting a rust free aluminium body, both of
which are painted with a fade resistant powder coat for
a durable finish and long life. Recognising that today's
children are growing larger, the design of the Thomas
The Tank Engine pedal car includes input from European
anthropometrical data to ensure that our cars are large
enough to accomodate their young drivers. This approach
results in larger vehicles that allow the driver to experience
being 'inside' the car rather than 'on top' as is the
case with many children's replica vehicles.

 Thomas
The Tank Engine: Thomas is a little blue engine who lives
on the Island of Sodor. His stories were created more than
50 years ago by an English clergyman, Reverend Wilbert Awdry
(1911-1997). The stories were created in 1942 to entertain
the Reverend's son, Christopher, who was confined to his bed,
suffering from measles. That Christmas, a simple wooden train
named Thomas was made for Christopher. This led to the creation
of even more stories about Thomas Train and his railway friends.
Encouraged by his wife, Wilbert Awdry found a publisher for
the stories and in 1945 The Three Railway Engines was published.
The stories in this book featured Edward, Gordon and Henry.
(Thomas isn't featured until the second book, Thomas the Tank
Engine.)
